July 2022 Niche Site Summary
On July 1st, I moved my site from AdThrive to Ezoic. July 1st, at 8:24AM ET, to be exact.
My family and I were still on vacation. The island we were visiting had terrible WiFi. The only reliable signal could be found at the local library.
So that’s where I was Friday morning. At the library, on vacation. If I wasn’t questioning this decision before, I certainly was now.
After some back-and-forth with the Ezoic team, my site was live. I let them know my ride had arrived, and then hit the beach with my family.
I tried my best to relax, but admittedly I’m not so great at that.
After sitting on the beach for a half hour or so, I pulled out my phone. (I check Google Analytics compulsively, always anticipating a massive drop in traffic.)
I open up the app.
Traffic is down 50%.
I integrated with Ezoic just 30 minutes ago, and now I’m seeing HALF my normal traffic. “I knew this was a mistake. I never should have moved. I had a good thing going.”
I alert the Ezoic team that something is wrong. They immediately dig in on their end, but find nothing. I put away my phone.
Traffic remains suppressed for hours. (About 7 hours in total, but whose counting.)
Just as I’m about to leave the beach, I get this text from Keith.
What are the odds? Google Analytics was broken, the issue had nothing to do with Ezoic.
I hadn’t even considered GA was the problem. Usually when GA breaks, it stops tracking altogether. (I was also on vacation – my brain was half on).
Anyways, things were off to a great start! And the next week didn’t get any easier.
I knew it would take some time for Ezoic to ramp up – I was new to the platform, ad rates take some time to adjust.
But still, I’ll admit I was worried. Here were my first 9 days of earnings with Ezoic.
Headed in the right direction, but I was pretty consistently having $700+ days with AdThrive. And it didn’t help that the final days leading up to my move were some of my best ever…

I decided to stop checking things, and just wait out the month. I made this move and I’d own the outcome – good or bad.
5 days later, my site had its first ever $1,000 dollar day.
Things only accelerated from there.
I ended the month on July 31st with my best earning day ever – a $1440 DAY.
In the final 2 weeks (14 days) of July, Ezoic produced an RPM of $51.05 ($17,044 in earnings, 338,820 pageviews). If that sticks, I’ll likely see a $40,000 August.
Time will tell, but so far Ezoic is delivering…
Below are the terms of my deal with Ezoic. Others have similar, if not identical terms. Do your own due diligence.
1. A guaranteed revenue floor based on my time with AdThrive (8 months, starting back in October last year)
2. A guarantee that I’ll make 15% more with Ezoic (and a sizable payout if I don’t)
3. Access to their premium ads at zero additional cost
4. A separate, additional financial incentive after 6 months, paid monthly so long as my traffic continues to grow month-over-month
5. Direct access to account management, support, direct brand sales etc.
6. 30 day notice to cancel this contract at any time

From June (586,005) to July (736,329) the site had a 25.65% increase in pageviews.

From June ($23,093) to July ($30,100.19) the site had a 30.34% increase in earnings.
Ezoic Display Ad Earnings – July 2022
- Total Ad Earnings: $29,082.80
- ePMV: $42.56
Amazon Associate Affiliate Earnings – July 2022
- Total Affiliate Earnings: $1,017.27 (previous $461.48)
- Clicks: 4,772 (previous 4,000)
- Conversion: 13.24% (previous 11.93%)

Average about 10-15 posts a month, mostly write the content myself (although starting to outsource now). I have a full history of all posts added to my site above.
Really motivating case study. Only thing you didn’t share was an idea of your GEO? What % was US/Canada/UK/World ?
80% US, remaining 15% is US/CAN/UK then 5% WORLD

Have been sleeping on my site 7 months now with only 7 posts. I have been waiting for my site to grow old (my biggest mistake). But your motto “Always be publishing” has inspired me to write more content. Thanks very much Mike.

Hey Florian! Finance is one of the most challenging niches to break into (aside from maybe health related topics). I would read up on what Google calls YMYL content before giving that a go.

Awesome stuff. I’ve been meaning to start a informational blog on ecommerce niche where I have the expertise in but I am not sure if an informational blog which has no product to review is a lucrative enough? I was thinking maybe writing and cover news related to ecommerce and if it becomes successful sell it as a media blog like the Hustle to HubSpot 🙂 maybe thats a huge dream, who knows.

hey, ive found you on niche pursuit… I’m really glad and excited that someone has such a motivational success story. i started my tech blog about the same time as yours.. unfortunately my experience was so bad. i trying to do something.. probably shutting that site off and moving to a new one. is “pc/gaming peripherals”(headset, microphones, mousepads, mice…) a good niche to blog about? or should I go more micro
